We have a confession to make: We miss you … a lot.

One of the main principles of our organization is to meet parents where they are. We are intensely passionate about this responsibility to parents because we know our supportive programs won’t feel like support if we’re adding another errand or task to a parent’s already-busy day.

Spending time with families is also the most fulfilling part of our work. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the bond between a parent and child grow right before our own eyes.

While our team has not missed a beat over the last year—transitioning to virtual home visits overnight to continue supporting parents—we have certainly missed being physically with you. There’s something powerful about a home visitor getting on the floor with new parents and their young baby to model simple, daily interactions that can help their child’s brain make important connections. The power of that personal interaction is why our evidence-based home visiting program is so effective.

That’s why we are proud to announce that we are transitioning back to in-person home visiting. Since our team, and our families, have received their COVID-19 vaccinations, we are comfortable and confident in this decision. Warmer weather also allows our team to meet families outside their homes, maybe even at a nearby park so their child can get some important exercise. We want our families to feel safe and we will continue to support our parents in ways that respect their health and safety.

In addition to the families, we served over the past year, we have also been thinking a great deal about those who became parents during the past year, as well as those expecting a little one soon. To make sure these families feel supported, we began holding a series of baby shower events called Nesting with Nurture the Next

This free baby shower is designed to give parents the useful information they need to know when building their nest, or strong foundation, for raising their family. We also know that parents need to be celebrated, which is why we also want to make sure it is fun. There are games, prizes, giveaways and food too! You can see when we are coming to your community by seeing all of our upcoming events here

Our flexibility as an organization has allowed us to adapt our services to the needs of families over the years, and this year was no exception. As we continue to arm parents with the tools and resources they need to help foster their child’s development, we remain committed to meeting them where they are. While that meant meeting online or over the phone for the past year, we recognize that the success of our home visiting program depends upon those personal interactions.

We are in this together, and we are beyond excited to get back out in our communities and see our families.

We hope to see you soon!
