Reflecting on 2022
We are taking our own advice here at Nurture the Next and practicing gratitude and celebration as we close out the year. (Did you miss our blog about cultivating gratitude? You can find it here.) It’s important to us to recognize the hard work that has taken place over the past year to help parents in our programs build safe, nurturing homes for their children to grow up in.
Our staff has worked tirelessly, with compassion and empathy, to equip parents with the tools they need to raise physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy children.
The families in our programs have committed their time, given us their trust, and dedicated their hard work to the benefit of the little ones they love so much.
Our Board of Directors, donors, and every volunteer who has served with us this year have given us their time, their expertise, and their dollars as an investment in the future and a commitment to creating communities where families will be supported and protected for years to come.
We quite literally could not do the work without each of these groups, and no words can adequately express our immense gratitude for them.
In this season of celebration, it feels right to share and applaud all the ways Nurture the Next has had an impact on families and communities across the state this year:
Our home visiting staff served over 900 children in their homes and guided their parents through proper care of their physical and emotional development
Trained specialists answered more than 13,000 calls on our Statewide Domestic Violence Helpline
NTN staff trained more than 1,000 teachers, coaches, and faith leaders on ways to keep children safe from sexual abuse
We distributed more than 20,000 diapers to families in need
One of the things we are most proud of is that 95.8% of every dollar raised at Nurture the Next goes directly to supporting children and their families. That’s our commitment - to maximize every investment made in these precious families.
