Family Engagement Events

We all know that it “takes a village” to raise a child. When children grow up surrounded by a wide net of positive influence and support, from family and friends to the larger community, they are likely to experience success. What we don’t talk about often enough, however, is the importance of that wide net of support for the parents. The CDC recommends building social support for both parents and children to mitigate negative experiences in childhood. through PCAT’s family engagement events, we bring families together to share parenting advice, encourage one another, and enjoy an experience they may otherwise not be able to give their children. Over the last year, we hosted 27 events across the state at places like zoos, learning centers, and museums. For so many of our families, this was their first experience at these family-friendly attractions. You can help us provide even more of these opportunities in 2020 by donating and volunteering.

Thank you to US Storage Centers for their contribution.
